Open source media player VLC got a huge update this week, including native support for Apple's Arm-based silicon for new M1 Macs. The update should allow owners of Apple's new Macs to experience.

• VideoLan offers a direct download from its website to the intended software and VLC’s Media Player version 3.0.12. It is important to take into account that choosing version 3.0.12.1 is the variety of software that is intended to work in full support to the Apple M1 Macs, and the different ARM-based machines, available in the market.

• VLC on Apple Silicon. I just saw that VLC is supported for Apple Silicon so I went ahead and downloaded it from the main site. It's odd because usually there's a separate installer for the new Mac ARM chips for these new softwares but I assumed that it would automatically detect which processor it's running on (just naturally lazy like that).

• Computer administrator privileges are required on Windows to run the beta version.This is limitation of Windows SCSI application programming interface. EventuallyMakeMKV will not require administrator privileges to run.
